Hiding sensitive data

‘Hiding’ sensitive information

Before allowing access to the online record a clinician may feel it is necessary to remove some information from the online view.  This may be third party information or potentially sensitive codes which the clinician feels would be detrimental to the patient to view. Justification for the decision to do this should be documented.  Results, read codes and free text entries can all be hidden from the online view.

This is done by marking as ‘do not show in the online record’. Please be aware that marking an entry as ‘private’ does not  stop it from being visible in the online record.

Please see screenshots for how to do this for TPP and EMIS systems.
